Why all the double-standards? Security vendors applaud those that find vulnerabilities in other systems and software, but then denounce folk who (no doubt will) find and publically demonstrate major vulnerabilities or exposures in their Antivirus security products. Surely, everyone stands to learn from this event, moreso those security vendors who are willing to face the facts, and learn about their products shortcomings, will stand to gain and in the long run beneift their customers. Antivirus security vendors should heed their own advice, where all too often we hear them spout various messages all indicating that..."the threats are evolving..so too should your defenses". Perhaps now is the time for the AV Vendor's products to adapt and evolve as we expect them too in line with the threats we will face. After all, denouncing the event which is often supported by security vendors cannot change the bare faced facts: For security technology to maintain it's relevance; it must either Evolve or Dissolve. Security through obscurity works well in a vacuum, but not in this 'ever evolving' real world.
