In communication is always "a lot of opportunity for misunderstandings" so it helps, if the target audience is taken into account when communicating, especially if one wants to make them tick.
Stereotypes can serve as a first approximation but their applicability across cultural borders needs verification.
The divide of “today's workplace personnel” by age might apply as such to the US situation, but can not be used in a global context without some adaptation.
Maybe the general message should be know the cultural background of you personnel (including age) and take that into account when formulating tailored (security) messages you want to make them tick.
