The comment about use of email is especially true. I have worked with people that show me email that they are very upset about. They are offended by the "tone" of the email. When I ask them if they have called the other person and discussed the issue with them, invariably the answer is no. Fortunately most of the time a quick phone call between the two people clears up the situation. People need to remember when sending email that it may be read very differently than you intended, when in doubt pick up the phone.
