I disagree with the comments so far, which seem unwarranted and mean spirited. While all these analysts firms seem to have cozy relationships with vendors, the article here is just talking about how IDM is relevant even in tough times - which it certainly is. Isn't this exactly what we security practitioners are doing as well, in fighting for our budgets?

Obviously, some of the earlier comments come from people who have never had to deal with some of the serious identity and access management issues discussed by Forrester. Whether your're bringing people on (Bank of America buying up Merrill Lynch) or letting them go (Citibank recently laid off 50,000 employees), an IAM solution can help improve security and compliance, while also cutting costs.
